Dorm Decor

As a college student, I am constantly looking for quick and easy projects to spruce up my dorm room a bit that still possess some manner of functionality. I am also obsessed with frames. So when I saw this frame in thrift shop, I knew it would be a great new addition to my room.

I'll probably end up adding some extra paint here
and there on the frame - maybe even my name or initials at the top - but for now we'll just focus on its function. Essentially all you have to do is take two pieces of string (or three depending on the amount of space you want), tie knots at the ends, and staple the string to the frame so that the knot holds it into place (as shown below).

Simply Southern

This outfit is super comfy and looks great. It also didn't make me too hot even though today was high eighties and it consists of boots and long sleeves.
The necklace was originally a charm, but I put it on a necklace and it is now a staple of mine that I wear with most casual outfits.

Denim Shirt: Target
Floral High-Waisted Skirt: Pacsun
Boots: Country View Western Store (Goldsboro, NC)
NC Charm: Surf Wind & Fire (Downtown New Bern, NC)
Gold Dangle Earrings: Maurices

Beautiful Bulletin Board

First, you will need a plain corkboard -- with a frame, or without depending on the look you're going for, and some lovely fabric of your choice. I got my board and fabric from Walmart and only spent about $12.

If you choose one with a frame, you will have to use something (like the dull side of a knife) to push the fabric up under the frame. However, if you select a board without a frame, you simply have to fold the fabric over the sides of the board and staple it to the back (and you can always add a frame later which is probably easier).

Voila! A beautiful bulletin board just for you.

Stay Classy

Shirt: Goodwill
Skirt: Sales Rack at Urban Outfitters
Shoes: Target
Purse: NYC Street Vendor (not actually Chanel..)

Ever find a couple of great pieces, but have no idea what to do with them? Well that was the case for me when I found this excellent skirt on sale at Urban and the top for only a few dollars at Goodwill. The skirt was almost too detailed to pair with any of my usual shirts, although I knew a solid color was the way to go, and the shirt was too big and shapeless to wear by itself. With the shirt being generally shapeless, I realized that I would have to belt it or wear it with something high-waisted, so with it being a solid black shirt that wasn't just plain cotton, these two pieces worked great together. I paired the black Chanel bag and black heels to keep it extra classy.
